About the London socials map
The London socials map lists places in London where you can dance, sing and meet people around music. It is meant for anyone who wants to go out and do something with other people, whether they are new to the city, new to the activity, or simply looking for a different evening.
What is listed
- Dancing: classes, courses, socials and clubs, from lindy hop and salsa to tango, ballet, hip hop, folk and ceilidh.
- Singing and choirs: choirs, pop and musical theatre choirs, singing courses and singing socials.
- Karaoke: karaoke bars, pub karaoke nights and private karaoke rooms.
- Music socials, open mics and jams: events where you take part, play or sing, not only watch.
- Piano bars, live music and concerts: places to hear music and, in some piano bars, to request songs.
- Meetups: groups that go to gigs, theatre and concerts together.
Where the data comes from
Entries are collected from the organisers' own websites, from public listings and from public event platforms. Each entry shows its weekday and time, the venue and address, the price when published, and a link to the organiser. Details that could not be confirmed are marked "verify before going" on the map, so always check with the organiser before travelling. Times and prices change; the date of the last update is shown on the map.
Get the data
The whole list is published as one markdown file, socials.md, which the map reads to build its filters, list and pins. You can read it, download it or reuse it for your own tools.
Missing a group or venue?
The list is not complete. Dance schools, choirs, karaoke nights and music socials open and close often, and small organisers are easy to miss. If you run or know one that is not listed, it can be added once its public website or listing states the day, time and place.
